You are a gift

Updated: May 6, 2022

"You formed my inmost being; You knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise You, because I am wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works! My very self You know. My bones are not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, fashioned in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me unformed; in Your book all are written down; my days were shaped, before one came to be. How precious to me are Your designs, O God; how vast the sum of them!" Psalm 139

Life is a gift. All life. The life of the soul is precious and dear to God, it's Creator. From the first moment of conception until natural death, every human being has a God given right to life. Every soul to ever exist, was in the mind of Our Lord, the Creator before the beginning of time. Jesus Christ's blood was shed for all, not one soul has been excluded from His passion. He suffered for all, He died for all, to save all. To take the life of an innocent child, is a grave sin. No matter how the child was conceived, abortion is murder. It's the truth. To take the life of an innocent being is murder and it is a grave sin. No one has the right to take the life of another or their own. This is why suicide, euthanasia and abortion is a grave matter, a grave sin. God determines the day of our death, God and God Alone, the soul's Creator. All human beings are made in the image and likeness of God. To take one's own life or the life of another is killing the image of God Himself.

"Thou shall not kill." Exodus 20:13

Our Lord is merciful, He is compassionate and caring. He is the best of fathers. He paid the consequence of every sin that has ever been committed. He has redeemed every soul. However, salvation is up to the soul. It is our choice whether we choose to repent and receive the unthinkable mercy of God or remain obstinate and prideful in our sin, and refuse repentance. No matter how grave or hardened a sinner may be, Our Lord offers forgiveness, if only the soul will repent.

For God is Truth. "If we say that we share in God's life while we are living in darkness, we are lying, because we are not living the truth. But if we live in light, as He is in light, we have a share in another's life, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we say, 'We have no sin,' we are deceiving ourselves, and truth has no place in us; if we acknowledge our sins, He is trustworthy and upright, so that he will forgive our sins and will cleanse us from all evil."* Our Lord told Saint Faustina that now is the time for mercy. If we do not pass through the doors of His Mercy, we will have to pass through the doors of His justice.

“This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

The woman's body is sacred. The dignity that God has bestowed upon the woman is immense and noble. The continuity of the human race depends on the womb of the mother. You can imagine how women who advocate for abortion are not only advocating for the death of innocent life, but also advocating for the destroying of the sacredness of their being. This is abusing the maternal gifts that have been granted to the female by the Most High.

“That special power of loving that belongs to a woman is seen most clearly when she becomes a mother. Motherhood is the gift of God to women. How grateful we must be to God for this wonderful gift that brings such joy to the whole world, women and men alike! Yet we can destroy this gift of motherhood, especially by the evil of abortion..."

Mother Teresa

A society that promotes the killing of innocent life, is a society that has a dead conscience. We must stand up and proclaim that all life matters. We must rouse our brothers and sisters who are dead in sin to "repent and believe and the good news!"*. We must be on the battlefield of prayer and action in defending the most vulnerable and helpless among us. If we do not fight for the innocent babies, who will? Women are called to defend the dignity that has been graced upon us by the Most High, by defending life. In defending life we are in fact defending God. We must stand up and proclaim that all life is a gift; that you my dear reader are a gift. A precious gift from God.

May we know how immensely and immeasurably loved we are, how special and unique. May we know that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made"* and that every soul bears the mark of it's Creator.

May we praise God for this gift of life.

St. Mother Teresa, pray for us.
